open up the way you see the world, and the world will open up to you
I was signed up for a week in a daunting task , thinking I would have fun with people my age. Nope. Everybody was older and I was a "mere youngling" in the eyes of the others. At first I didn’t want to go back, but I did, and i’m glad because of it. I learned a bit about myself because of it, and as hard as it is, I think you should always try to push your limits and try things you wouldn’t normally do.

ups and downs
I have been very fortunate in the past 6 months and feel much gratitude ... having a number of major work successes and recognition for this. My kids are in good places. My husband'a job is going well after a number of bumpy years. I am almost afraid to say it ... life is good. There have most definitely been valleys, so I think the best thing to do is to enjoy the good, hope it lasts a long time and when a valley arrives know that "this too shall pass".
My daughter (11) and I (44) have decided to blog together. A view of the world from two very different places. She most definitely has her own mind (as noted by heavy editing of her mom's post .. how boring she sighs frequently...!!). But hey I am a bit boring and I am her mother and what is a mom's role if not to somewhat horrify and bore her daughter!
So I am posting this quickly before she takes her delete button to my work :)

a few observations
What a day. I started camp, only to realize that people in my camp were more than 3 years younger than me. This is my favourite camp and a camp I was looking forward to going. I was so disappointed. Luckily we arranged to go to another camp that I never would have thought to go on my own - "Movie Making" instead of the general arts camp I was supposed to go to.
Two friends from guides were at the camp. It make me think of two things
its not what you do, its who you spend your time withand
always try to push yourself to do one thing out of your comfort zoneSpoiler Alert!!!! Now I am on my way to make a zombie movie!! Stay tuned

A few thoughts
today I had an awesome time bowling and setting up a lemonade stand with my grandparents and younger cousin. For all that work we did setting up (about 2 hours) we only got about 3 people to come outside our family. We then went off to the bowling alley. Me and granddad found it hilarious when, while playing 5 pin, with bumpers, 5 year old Emily started asking us what pin the overhead screen said. She wouldn't accept anybody else to suggest anything as she wanted to get the best number of points. Ahh … competition starts young

Life as we C it
Life as we c it. Daily struggles awash in a wave of complaints, grumps, and mistakes.Just trying to stay afloat in a sea of frustrating, maddening things trying to knock us off our little raft. But it's all part of life. Life as WE see it.
